In this chapter I have collected everything the learned great devotees havesaid about Navadvépa. First, please carefully hear Kavi-karëapüra's description of Navadvépa in his Caitanya-carita Mahä-kävya:

iyaà mahé bhägyavaté mahéyasé
divo 'pi divyäd api nirmalair guëaiù
mahanti ratnäni yadä dadäty ato
dadhau navadvépam atéva-durlabhamiyam - this; mahé - earth; bhägyavaté - fortunate; mahéyasé - more; divaù - than the

The fortunate and purely virtuous earthly world is more exalted than even Svargaloka. When the earth was giving great jewels it also gave the very rare abode of Navadvépa.

samastam - all; ekatra - in one place; vidhäya - placing; sarvataù - completely; mahéruhaiù - with trees; utpulakä - with bodily hairs erect in ecstasy; iyam - this;utsukä - eager; dadhau - placed; navadvépe - in Navadvépa; iti - thus; prathäàfame;kim - whether?; u - indeed.
Has the earth, its trees now hairs standing in ecstasy, eagerly collected all transcendental opulences and placed them in Navadvépa?

prabhuù kadä vävatariñyatéty ado
vicintayantyä manasi praphullayä
manorathäkränti-viçäd anekaçaù
satäà pädäbjänu-gatir yayä dadheprabhuù - the Lord; kadä - when?; vä - or; avatariñyati - will descend; iti - thus; adaù - below;vicintayantyä - thinking; manasi - in the heart; praphullayä - joyful; manoratha - desires; äkränti-visät - overwhelming; anekaçaù - many; satäm - of the devotees; päda-abja - lotus feet; anu-gatiù - following; yayä - by her; dadhe - placed.
" When will the Lord descend?" Thinking this way in her heart, and overcome with spiritual desires, the earth began to follow the footsteps of the great devotees.

vaded amuñyaà ca vimukti-dayiné
prabhoù pada-sparça-rasämalätmanaùiyam - she; navadvépa-miçena - as Navadvépa; mediné - the earth; dadhära - held; bhüyaù - again; mathuräm - Mathurä; iva - as if; aparäm - peerless; vadet - may say; amuñyam - of it; ca - and; vimutki-dayiné - granting liberation; prabhoù - of the Lord; pada - of the feet; sparça - the touch; rasa - nectar; amala - pure; ätmanaù - heart.
The earth held Navadvépa as if it were another peerless Mathurä. It is said that, heart purified by the nectar touch of the Lord's feet, she now offers liberation.

Flooding Lord Çiva's matted hair splendid with a necklace of skulls and a reflection of the crescent moon and wonderfully splendid as a çapharé fish, pure with the touch of the Supreme Personality of Godhead's lotus feet, beautiful, sweet, manifesting the supreme abode, restless, transcendental, eternal, flowing with pure waters, drying up the ocean of repeated birth and death eventhough it is itself liquid, glorious, holding the transcendental form of Lord Kåñëa in its embrace, destroying material illusion even though its course is winding, filled with playful waves, and bearing the fragrance of the Supreme Personality of Godhead, the Ganges, the famous river of the celestial worlds now flowing on the earth, beautifies the land of Navadvépa.

çruti-småténäà vidhayaù çarériëaùvasanti - reside; yatra - where; kñiti-deva-sattamäù - exalted brähmaëas; sadä - always; sad-äcära-paräù - saintly; paräyaëäù - devoted; nirantaram - always; veda-vidhäna-karmasu - in activities prescribed by the Vedas; çruti-småténäm - of çruti and småti; vidhayaù - the rules; çarériëaù - personified.
In Navadvépa reside exalted, saintly, devoted brähmaëas, who always follow Vedic duties, and who are personifications of çruti and småti.

sva-bhäva-bhäjäà bhiñajäà mahattamäù
sa-dharma-niñöhäç ca viñäà varäù pare
pratiñöhayä nirbhara-çubhrayä sadä
samanvitä yatra vasanti mänaväùsva-bhäva-bhäjäm - own nature; bhiñajäm - of physicians; mahattamäù - the best; sa-dharma-niñöhäù - following prescribed duties; ca - and; viñäm - of vaiçyas; varäù - the best; pare - others; pratiñöhayä - by reputation; nirbhara-çubhrayä - very pure; sadä - always; samanvitäù - endowed; yatra - where; vasanti - reside; mänaväù - people.
In Navadvépa reside exalted physicians, pious, dutiful vaiçyas, and many other gloriously respectable people.

He (Kavi-karëapüra) has also described (Navadvépa) in the following verse of Çré Caitanya-candrodaya Näöaka:
All glories to the crest-jewel of sacred places in Bengal that bears the name Navadvépa! There the Supreme Personality of Godhead descended in a form splendid as gold. There Goddess Bhakti is splendidly manifest in every home.

In Çré Gaura-gaëoddeça-dépikä, also, he said:
Some learned devotees say that Navadvépa is identical with the land of Våndävana. Others say that Navadvépa is actually the spiritual planet Goloka. Some say that Navadvépa is the planet Svetadvépa, and others say that Navadvépa is actually the spiritual sky of Vaikuëöha. All glories to the wonderfully glorious land of Navadvépa!

Now please hear what Çréla Rüpa Gosvämé has said in his prayers to Lord Caitanya:
He is the shelter of the people of Bengal. His glory is manifested in Navadvépa. By birth He ornaments the brähmaëa community, which is worshiped in all the worlds. By accepting it, He purifies the paramahaàsa-äçrama in this world. May that Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Caitanya, show us His great causeless mercy.

Now please hear the statement of Çréla Prabodhänanda Sarasvaté:
Let us glorify the boundlessly merciful Supreme Personality of Godhead, the prince of Vraja. To taste the intoxicating sweet waves of the nectar of transcendental love for Kåñëa, as well as to give that nectar to others, He has now appeared in the transcendental abode of Navadvépa as Lord Caitanya Mahäprabhu.

Çré Våndävana däsa Thäkura has said:
We eternally worship Lord Nityänanda, Lord Advaita, and Lord Caitanya, who are the single Supreme Personality of Godhead, who are eternally decorated with spiritual glory, and who eternally stay in Their eternal transcendental abode with Thier eternal devotees and with the eternal goddess of devotion.

The following meditation on Navadvépa (is found in the Çré Caitanyacandrärcana-candrikä):
In the beautiful, purifying Ganges, where the shores are filled with beautiful blossoming trees and vines, where the waters are filled with waves, where there are gentle breezes, swans, lotus flowers, and bumblebees, where there are splendid holy places studded with jewels, where the dust bears the impression of Lord Gaura's lotus feet, by the charming, golden, nectar shore, Çré Navadvépa, very auspicious, a great flood of bliss, charming with many kinds of flowers, fruits, trees, and vines, served by the great souls, and filled with the sounds of many kinds of colorful birds, sounds that charm the ear and heart, shines with great splendor.

In the city of Navadvépa many brähmaëas and pious people have their homes, and there are many beautiful courtyards, gardens, groves and splendid pastime places. The devotees celebrate eternal festivals glorious with the splendor of transcendental devotional service. In every home the Deity of Lord Kåñëa shines with great splendor.

In Navadvépa Lord Gauräìga-Hari's delightful palace, enclosed by a golden wall eclipsing the sun's splendor, glorious with a grand entrance-gate, splendid saìkértana-courtyard, temple of Çré Lakçmé-Näräyaëa, kitchen, dining-room, bedroom, and rooftop balcony, shines with great splendor.

The palace has a dome of jewels, a roof of diamonds, candramaëis, other jewels, pearls, wonderful gold, and transcendental bhaktimaëis, four doors with eight panels splendid with måñöamaëi jewels, and awnings of rubies.

In the midst of that place is a wonderful golden six-petal lotus decorated with mantra-letters and mystic patterns (yantras). In the middle is the lotus whorl and filaments. There, splendid as sunshine and cooling as camphor, is a sacred place in the shape of a tortoise. There a lion-throne shines with great splendor.

The base and sides of the throne are fashioned from rubies, the legs from sapphires, and the back from lapis lazuli. It is splendid with wonderful pearls and the best jewels. taà çré-navadvépam ahaà smarämividyä - knowledge; dayä - compassion; kñanti - tolerance; makhaiù - sacrifice; samastaiù - with al; ñaòbhiù - six; guëaiù - virtues; yatra - where; janaù - people; prapannaù - endowed; saàstüyamänä - glorified; åñi-deva-siddhaiù - by the åñis, devas, and siddhas.
I meditate on Çré Navadvépa, where the people are glorified by the great sages. demigods, and Siddhas, and are filled with knowledge, mercy, tolerance, the results of all Vedic yajïas, and the six great opulences.
