The Two most astonishing thing for the British who invaded India were.
1) The Indian gurukula system.
2) The Indian agriculture system.
The then Governor of British India Robert Clive made an extensive research on the agriculture system in India.
The outcome of the research was as follows:-
1) Cows were the basis of Indian agriculture and agriculture in India cannot be executed without the help of cow.
2) To break the Backbone of Indian agriculture cows had to be eliminated.
The first slaughterhouse in India was started in 1760, with a capacity to kill 30,000 (Thirty thousand only) per day, at least one crore cows were eliminated in an years time.
He estimated that the number of cows in Bengal outnumbered the number of men. Similar was the situation in the rest of India.
As a part of the Master plan to destabilize the India, cow slaughter was initiated.
Once the cows were slaughtered, then there was no manure and there is no insecticide like cow urine.
Robert Clive started a number of slaughter houses before he left India.
A hypothesis to understand the position of Indian agriculture without slaughter houses:-
In 1740 in the Arcot District of Tamil Nadu, 54 Quintals of rice was harvested from one acre of land using simple manure and pesticides like cow urine and cow dung.
As a result of the 350 slaughterhouses which worked day and night by 1910. India was practically bereft of cattle. India had to approach England’s doorstep for industrial manure. Thus industrial manure like urea and phosphate made way to India.
After India attained independence in the name of “Green Revolution” there was extensive use of industrial manure.
Before British left India. The daily news paper Guardian interviewed India.
To one of the questions Gandhiji answered, that the day India attains Independence, all the slaughter houses in India would be closed.
In 1929 Nehru in a public meeting stated that if he were to become the prime minister of India, the first thing he would do is to stop all the slaughterhouses.
The tragedy of the situation is since 1947 the number has increased from350 to 36,000(thirty six thousand) slaughter houses.
Today, the highly mechanized slaughterhouses Al-kabir and Devanar of Andhra Pradesh and Maharastra has the capacity to slaughter 10,000(ten thousand) cows at a time.
It’s a warning signal to one and all in India to rise to the occasion!!!

The British Origin of Cow-slaughter in India - Dharampal & T.M.
Mukundan
Of all beings the cow is treated in India as the most sacred, auspicious and sanctified. Since about 1860 AD British and European scholarship started a new school of vedic interpretation to impress on the westernised class in India that the ancient Vedas, and allied texts also advocated, celebrated, and feasted on the flesh of the cow, or bullock, on special occasions. This book traces the British Origin of Cow-slaughter in India from the 18th Century. It also has British Origin of Cow-slaughter in India from the 18th Century. It also has British documents on the Anti-kine killing movement from 1880 - 1894.

It's the British Empire, Stupid! [PDF version of this article]
In modern legend, the global British Empire disappeared in the
late 19th Century, or at least at the end of World War II. It was replaced
by the two superpowers—the Soviet Union and the United States—and now,
with the demise of the Soviet Union, with the "hyperpower" the United States.
A more dangerous delusion could not be held. For, as the LaRouche
movement has documented extensively, especially in the 1994 to 1997 period,[1]
the "new" British Empire has never been so powerful, nor so close to implementing
its schemes for global chaos and destruction. This empire is not to be
confused with the United Kingdom, nor even the British Monarchy per se.
Its model is that of the older Venetian oligarchy, which functions as a
financial oligarchic system of families, foundations, and other institutions
dedicated to preserving their power in perpetuum, and destroying all systems
and forces, most especially the nation-state, which stand in their way.
We summarily provide a review of three major areas of ongoing
British imperial power here. First, there's the economic/financial role
played by leading Anglo-Dutch financial institutions, who exercise an astonishingly
substantial control over the physical necessities of life, such as food
and energy. Second, there's the military role of British Imperial forces,
both visible and invisible, regular and irregular. Third, there's the British
Empire's cultural warfare apparatus, the most aggressive force for the
destruction of pro-human scientific culture globally.
The World's Largest Economic Power "Now, that empire,
which the British effectively control, except for dissident nations that
don't like it, represents about one-fifth of the world's land area; it
represents about 30% of the world's population. It controls 48-50% of the
world's financial turnover, including the $3.5 trillion a day derivatives
turnover. It controls the majority of the world's international trade in
what are called strategic metals, such as the metals that are required
for most industry. It controls the majority of the international trade
in petroleum.... These interests, the Anglo-Dutch-Swiss, Cargill et al.
complex, control the majority of the international food trade, in a time
of grave food crisis worldwide."
That is how Lyndon LaRouche summarized the financial power of
the British Empire back in March 1996. If anything, the share of world
power wielded economically by the "Empire" has increased over the last
10 years.
Much of the control is, admittedly, not on the surface. It is
exercised through the London Stock Exchange, through the London International
Financial Futures Exchange, through the London Metal Exchange, and the
International Petroleum Exchange. These are the institutions where the
actual disposition of the physical assets being traded is determined, not
to mention the layers upon layers of speculative financial instruments
created, that are now in full collapse, and threatening to bring the physical
economy down with it. Exemplary of the raw material control is the role
of two corporations, Anglo-American and Rio Tinto Zinc, which controlled
from 10 to 24% of the Western world's crucial minerals output in 1995.
A British Military Empire Those forced to admit British
imperial power in the financial sphere, would surely object to the assertion
that the Empire still wields enormous, often decisive military power today,
as it did in launching World War I and II. Again, they would be wrong.
Her Majesty's military forces are not large, but they are strategically
placed to control, and instigate, conflicts in dozens of sensitive locations
throughout the world. Take the British role in the Iraq wars, for example,
or in the Balkan disaster. Look at the disposition of British forces throughout
the African continent, or Asia. From these locations the British have let
loose with "intelligence," or provocations, that have exacerbated local
conflicts, even toward the point of threatening "superpower" confrontation.
Even more significant, as befits the Venetian "East India Company"
nature of the modern British Empire, is the role of the "privatized" or
irregular forces deployed globally. As EIR's 1997 report The True Story
Behind the Fall of the House of Windsor documents, and later EIR feature
series further elaborated, London is the home base for dozens, if not hundreds,
of private mercenary armies, some of them explicitly terrorist, others
simply "contract" employees, who are deployed "in Her Majesty's Service"
globally. Utilizing the longstanding ties which the imperial center has
with different peoples and tribes around the world, London has created
and manipulated ethnic groups, and even small armies, in its own strategic
interest of destroying nation-states. It's not for nothing that many nations
have dubbed London "Londonistan," for its role in support of Khalistan,
Balochistan, Kurdistan, and dozens more breakaway movements.
Empire of the Mind As EIR's 1997 study emphasized, however,
the most dangerous means of control exercised by the new British Empire
is not financial, or military, but cultural. It is in this sphere that
Britain's "invisible empire" takes the most prisoners of all. The empire
works through various media.
Perhaps most ubiquitous is the use of the mass media, epitomized
by the British Broadcasting Company. BBC is by far the most widely disseminated
broadcasting network globally, and it is heard in dozens of languages other
than English. Touting a reputation as "objective," the service's political
role on behalf of the Queen's government, to which it is responsible, can
be indicated by its role in such incidents as the misrepresentation and
then "suicide" of Dr. David Kelly, critic of the Blair government's lies
against Iraq, in the summer of 2003.
More hidden, and equally nefarious, is the role of the British
Empire through institutions of the United Nations, including the ever-expanding
network of so-called non-governmental organizations. NGOs, chartered by
the UN, are often run by wealthy families, and there is an astounding number
of them in Great Britain itself. (over half a million in 1996) But most
destructive is the imperial ideology of the institution, which defines
these advocates for "civil society" as ranking above governments, and as
instruments for destroying governments which do not kowtow to their demands.
One need only look at the role of the NGOs rampant in the countries of
the former Soviet bloc to see the transparent anti-nation role they are
crafted to play.
No account of the cultural warfare being run by the British
Empire against the human race would be complete without reference to its
role in advancing the Genocide movement associated with the World Wildlife
Fund's radical population control drive, and its spinoff, the Global Warming
Movement of today. While Lord Bertrand Russell and other representatives
of the "old" British empire carried the flag for this ideology in the 19th
century, the flag was well taken up by Queen Elizabeth's Royal Consort,
Prince Philip and his son Charles, in the 20th and now 21st. The totally
brutal, and false, idea behind this "environmentalism," was exposed by
Philip himself, when he told the Deutsche Press Agentur in August 1988
that "in the event that I am reincarnated, I would like to return as a
deadly virus, in order to contribute something to solve overpopulation."
That may seem extreme, but note that in our daily press, globally,
headlines are given to the danger man represents to gorilla species (and
others, even bugs!), even as millions of children die daily for lack of
clean water, electricity, and sufficient food. British Malthusian ideology
is indeed controlling our institutions, and behavior, without our even
recognizing it.
It's time to unleash those chains!

LONDON, UK, February 15, 2008: A Hindu organization in the UK on Friday blamed the British for the caste system in India, saying the "current adulteration" of the varnashram system is a result of "generations of British colonial bureaucracy."
"It was the British who single-handedly formulated the caste schedules that remain in place today," Raj Pandit Sharma, a member of the Hindu Council UK's (HCUK) Executive, said. "The evils manifest in the current form of the caste system could not be ascribed to the Hindu faith." The report included quotations from Hindu scripture in support of the concept of egalitarianism and cites many sacred texts - respected by people of all castes - that were written by "Dalits," or "outcastes."
The result of several months research by Sharma, a report lifts the lid on rarely-heard Hindu perspectives on a subject assumed by most non-Hindus to be always a gross form of unjust discrimination, used to justify attempts by Christians to convert Hindus. The report acknowledged and condemned continued abuse in India, despite an official ban on caste discrimination.
The detailed report challenges assumptions about caste and details that, concluding that contrary to their assertions and popular belief, caste, as described in the Hindu scriptures, is not determined by birth.

UK Hindus blame British for caste system
Press Trust of India
Friday, February 15, 2008 (London)
A Hindu organisation in the UK on Friday blamed the British for the caste system in India, saying the ''current adulteration'' of the varnashram system is a result of ''generations of British colonial bureaucracy''.
''It was the British who single-handedly formulated the caste schedules that remain in place today,'' Raj Pandit Sharma, a member of the Hindu Council UK's (HCUK) Executive, said in a report on 'Caste Discrimination'.
The HCUK said it came out with the report to prevent the spread of ''misinformation about Hinduism'' by ''anti-caste propagandists''.
Sharma said the evils manifest in the current form of the caste system could not be ascribed to the Hindu faith.
''The current adulteration of the Hindu varnashram system is a direct result of generations of British colonial bureaucracy,'' he claimed.
The report included quotations from Hindu scripture in support of the concept of egalitarianism and cites many sacred texts - respected by people of all castes - that were written by ''Dalits,'' or ''outcastes'', in an attempt to prove that in Hinduism, caste was never intended to be hereditary.
The report also highlighted the ''hypocrisy'' of those who would criticise caste in India while ignoring Britain's own social divisions. ''There are now record levels of homeless people in the UK, who are analogous with the outcastes of Indian society,'' Sharma said.
He also questioned comparing caste system with apartheid.
''This comparison is as ridiculous as it is untrue, especially given the fact these barbaric systems were born under the shadow of slavery or indentured labour, based on the colour of one's skin, and actually conceived and perpetrated by Europeans, not Hindus.''
''It is no joke to have to ward off concerted misinformation campaigns from UK parliamentarians who really ought to know better,'' Anil Bhanot, HCUK General Secretary, said in his Foreword to the document.
He said he has gone through the difficult process in the hope that it would alert the wider British public to the prejudicial tactics carried out by ''anti-caste propagandists''.
Banot said ''Today, we are putting the record straight. We are also naming and shaming those who spread misinformation about Hinduism and its relationship to caste in an ill-disguised attempt to vilify the Hindu people and cause division within our community.''
The result of several months research by Sharma, the report lifts the lid on rarely-heard Hindu perspectives on a subject assumed by most non-Hindus to be always a gross form of unjust discrimination, an alleged feature of Hinduism so maligned it justifies attempts by Christians to convert Hindus in the UK, in India and elsewhere, the report said.
The report acknowledged and condemned the fact that abuse of varnashram continues in India, despite an official ban on caste discrimination and the introduction of positive discrimination policies to emancipate lower castes, in particular Dalits, or 'untouchables'.
But it questions the existence of caste discrimination in the UK, saying no one should be ''fooled'' by groups making allegations of such discrimination who are seeking government legislation and funds to tackle this ''supposed problem''.
The detailed report challenges assumptions about caste and the claims
made by organisations such as CasteWatch UK and the Dalit Solidarity Network
UK, concluding that contrary to their assertions and popular belief, caste,
as described in the Hindu scriptures, is not determined by birth.

INDIA, June 26, 2008: (HPI note: This is a moving account from the Nepal-based magazine Himal of the experience, mostly of those who stayed behind, when tens of thousands of workers were shipped from the Bhojur region of India to the British colonies.)
Nearly 150 years ago began an agonising saga of migration from the Bhojpur region of India. With Britain actively engaged in agriculture in colonies across the world, there was a great need for skilled labourers – a need that was larggely filled by the impoverished people of what is today western Bihar and Eastern Uttar Pradesh, who were particularly skilled at growing sugarcane. In their efforts at controlling Indian life, the British had systematically destroyed many rural enterprises, in particular the colony’s small-scale sugar and molasses industries. This dynamic had led to the creation of a large group of surplus labor in the region, which in turn was shipped off to work on plantations in Suriname, Mauritius and the Caribbean islands. Between 1873 and 1916, 64 shiploads of workers – more than 34,300 men andd women – were ‘recruited’ to work as indentured laborers on sugar plantations in the far-off islands.
The multitudes of the Subcontinent, of course, have experienced migration for tens of thousands of years. But the migration of the colonial period took place on a massive and sudden scale, and the places where the emigrants found themselves were often very far away, where contact with the homeland was exceedingly difficult. This inevitably caused significant pain to huge numbers of people, both those who had left and those who were left behind.

HPI also recommends reading about the Chinese Opium Wars here, another striking portrait of the extremes of colonization.

The truth about "Lord Macaulay's Address To The British Parliament - February 2, 1835"
As a quote with the above title has been doing the rounds and came to my attention, I though it worth checking with the only authority on the period who I know personally, Dr. Vishal Mangalwadi. I summarise his response below:
The text is a complete forgery. Macaulay was in India from 1834-38. There is no way he could have even addressed the Parliament in 1835. The forger has not read even one of Macaulay's speeches. However, there is some similarity with one quote from the "Macaulay Minute" of 1835, PROVIDED one twists that quote (as many do!) to misrepresent what Macaulay was saying. A number of people keep using that quote without actually reading the "Minute".
BTW, the whole of the "Minute" is reprinted in Dr Vishal Mangalwadi's book "India: the Grand Experiment" - if you would care to read the "Minute".
Lord McCauley in his speech of Feb 2, 1835, British Parliament
"I have travelled across the length and breadth of India and I have not seen one person who is a beggar, who is a thief. Such wealth I have seen in this country, such high moral values, people of such calibre, that I do not think we would ever conquer this country, unless we break the very backbone of this nation, which is her spiritual and cultural heritage, and, therefore, I propose that we replace her old and ancient education system, her culture, for if the Indians think that all that is foreign and English is good and greater than their own, they will lose their self-esteem, their native self-culture and they will become what we want them, a truly dominated nation".
